Dr. Farooq Naeem is a globally recognized psychiatrist and researcher with deep expertise in culturally adapted psychotherapy. A Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, he has pioneered techniques that make cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) more relevant and accessible across diverse cultural contexts.


Dr. Naeem developed the Southampton Adaptation Framework — a widely used model for adapting CBT — and has led over 30 randomized controlled trials implementing these methods worldwide. His work has been published extensively and has shaped the global conversation on making evidence-based psychotherapies more inclusive. In recognition of his contributions, he has received numerous accolades, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Network on Personal Meaning.

Grounded in Culturally Adapted Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CaCBT), the program is tailored for culturally influenced weight and body image challenges.
