I believe in your innate need for growth, belonging, and a sense of purpose. That belief has shaped my practice across more than 25 years of clinical work, spanning Pakistan and Canada, and it is what I carry into every session.

I come from a South Asian, Muslim background, and that lived experience is not separate from my clinical work — it is woven through it. I understand what it means to hold faith and mental health in the same hands and wonder if they belong together. I understand the particular exhaustion of navigating a culture that does not always make space for struggle, and the quiet weight of being expected to manage, to endure, and to keep going. Many of the people I work with have never felt like a therapy room was built for them. I want this to feel different.

The people who find their way to me are often carrying more than one thing at once. Anxiety that has been present so long it feels like personality. Depression that is hard to name when you have so much to be grateful for. Relationship pain with a partner, a parent, a family system that traces back further than you can see. Grief. OCD. The particular stress of major life transitions, or of building a life in a country that does not fully know your story. Some of my clients are aviation professionals carrying the unique pressures of that world. Others are working through trauma or PTSD, sometimes for the first time with someone who genuinely gets the cultural context around it.

Whatever you are bringing, you do not have to translate yourself to be understood here.

My approach is integrative, which means I do not arrive with a single fixed method. I draw from a wide range of evidence-based frameworks and shape the work around what you actually need, at the pace that is right for you. I work from a biopsychosocial-spiritual model, holding your mind, your body, your relationships, and your faith together rather than treating them as separate things. For many of the people I see, spirituality is not a side note. It is central to how they understand suffering and what healing is supposed to feel like. I bring that into the room with care, and I offer faith-informed counselling for clients of all major traditions.

Twenty-five years of practice across two countries, a doctorate in psychology, and licensure in two Canadian provinces mean I have worked with a genuinely wide range of human experience. Outside the therapy room, I am also a private pilot, which is part of what drew me to specializing in flying phobia and aviation professionals. I understand that world from the inside, not just clinically.
