What drew me to this work is my belief that everyone deserves a safe, compassionate space where they can feel truly understood, without judgment, and reconnect with themselves. My own experiences with fertility challenges, a difficult pregnancy, and having a baby in the NICU have shaped the way I understand how deeply these experiences can affect us. I know how overwhelming it can feel to navigate uncertainty, fear, and the changes that come with pregnancy and parenthood, and how easily we can lose trust in our bodies and in ourselves.
I grew up in Karachi, Pakistan, and moved here as a teenager. My cultural background has deeply shaped how I understand family, identity, relationships, and the values we carry with us. As a therapist, I work with BIPOC and South Asian individuals from a multicultural, culturally responsive, and anti-oppressive perspective. I support clients navigating fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum adjustment, body image, self-esteem, anxiety, trauma, grief, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and major life transitions.
I also understand that for many South Asian clients, there can be layers to our experiences that aren’t always easy to talk about — whether it’s colorism and shadeism, body image and changes in weight, intergenerational conflict, family expectations, dating and career pressures, or the feeling that we need to sacrifice our own needs for the sake of izzat, family honour, or being the “good child.”
Sometimes, being the good daughter or son means learning to put everyone else first. Therapy can be a space to gently explore what happens when we begin to ask, “What do I need?” We can work through guilt, people-pleasing, boundaries, identity, and generational patterns while still honoring the culture, relationships, and values that are meaningful to you.
With over 12 years of counselling experience, I offer a warm, person-centered space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. Together, we can make sense of what you’re carrying, develop practical ways to navigate life’s challenges, and create more space for self-compassion, confidence, and authenticity.
I believe healing doesn’t mean becoming a different person. It can mean coming home to yourself — with greater curiosity, self-acceptance, and trust in who you are and the strengths you already carry.
I provide therapy fluently in Hindi and can also converse in English and Urdu.
