Therapist-led group programs designed around shared experiences, cultural context, and evidence-based care.
GROUP THERAPY
Note: While our group programs are rooted in culturally adapted approaches, they are open to individuals of all backgrounds. Anyone meeting clinical eligibility criteria is welcome to participate.
CURRENT GROUPS
Our Sukoon Groups are therapist- or psychologist-led programs designed around specific experiences and challenges. Sessions are offered on a pay-per-session basis, so there is no upfront commitment to the full program. A small deposit is required at registration to reserve a spot; this is applied toward the first two sessions.
Sessions are eligible to be claimed under extended health benefits as psychotherapy services. We recommend confirming coverage details directly with the insurance provider.

No referral is required for Sukoon Groups. A short connection call with the group facilitator is recommended to ensure the program is the right fit before registering.
Sessions led by a registered psychotherapist or psychologist are generally eligible to be claimed under extended health benefit plans. Coverage amounts and eligible provider types vary by plan. We recommend confirming coverage details with the insurance provider before the group begins. An initial deposit of $190 covers the first two sessions, and the rest of the sessions are conducted under a pay-per-session model, with each session costing $95. A receipt is provided after each session for reimbursement purposes.
Sukoon Groups operate on a pay-per-session basis. There is no upfront commitment to the full program, though consistent attendance is strongly encouraged given the structured, sequential format of the sessions. A small deposit of $195 is required at registration to reserve a spot.
Group sizes are intentionally kept small — typically 8 to 10 participants — to allow for meaningful engagement and a genuine sense of community within the group.
Given the structured nature of our programs, consistent attendance matters. Specific attendance and cancellation policies are shared with participants before the group begins.
No. Sukoon Groups are separate from the OHIP-funded programs and do not require a physician referral. OHIP-covered programs are led by psychiatrists (MDs) and have specific eligibility criteria. Details on those programs are available on the OHIP Group Therapy page.
