Taysir Moonim
Registered Psychotherapist

RP

I am a Registered Psychotherapist whose practice is grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. I believe healing happens in connection, and my goal is to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard and supported.

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or unsure how to move forward. You may be navigating grief, burnout, major life transitions, or the quiet pressure of balancing personal identity, cultural expectations, and family responsibilities. Many of my clients are the “strong ones” in their families — the people others rely on — who rarely have the space to process their own emotions. In our work together, my goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported as we make sense of what you’re going through.

With over 15 years of experience in hospital and community mental health settings across India and Canada, I support individuals facing challenges such as depression, grief, caregiver stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. I also work with clients navigating trauma, PTSD, complex trauma (C-PTSD), dissociation, and the lasting impact of difficult or unsafe experiences.

Much of my work centers on supporting people navigating complex identities and systemic barriers, including immigrants, refugees, LGBTQIA+ individuals, neurodivergent clients, and those experiencing cultural or intergenerational challenges. As a South Asian immigrant myself, I understand the emotional complexity of migration, belonging, and balancing multiple identities across different cultural spaces.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, and compassionate. Together, we work to build emotional resilience, develop practical coping strategies, and reconnect you with your sense of agency and self-compassion.

I deeply value and respect each client’s cultural identity and personal lens. Together, we will take the time to explore the experiences and emotions that shape your story, make sense of complex feelings, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been overlooked or silenced. Our work will focus on helping you move toward greater self-acceptance, inner peace, and empowerment.

You don’t have to navigate these experiences alone. Therapy can be a space where healing begins, where your story is honoured, and where meaningful change becomes possible. If you’re considering therapy, I welcome you to reach out for a free consultation so we can see if working together feels like the right fit.
