Zahra is a registered psychotherapist with over a decade of experience supporting individuals through anxiety, trauma, depression, emotion dysregulation, shame, self-esteem, and women’s mental health. She also works with parents navigating the emotional challenges of caregiving and life transitions. Her client-centered, trauma-informed approach emphasizes strong therapeutic relationships and practical tools for healing and resilience.
Zahra draws on evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, Schema Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Practices. She equips clients with practical tools to foster emotional well-being and resilience. She works with women, parents, adolescents, and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. As a first-generation immigrant, she brings a deep understanding of displacement and identity, supporting immigrants, refugees, and marginalized communities with empathy and insight.
She believes that what is broken in relationships can be healed in relationships. Our early attachments shape how we relate to ourselves and others. While these patterns may once have protected us, they can also become barriers to authenticity and connection. Zahra helps clients examine early schemas, heal emotional wounds, and move toward emotional freedom and more meaningful relationships.
Sessions are collaborative and structured. The first few focus on understanding your goals, building a treatment plan, and beginning reflective work. You may be offered mindfulness practices, skill-building tools, or journaling exercises to support progress between sessions.
Zahra is fluent in English, Hindi, and Urdu, and is an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, racialized individuals, and single mothers. She offers a free 15-minute consultation to explore whether her approach is the right fit for you.
